The 4th annual “Pedal Against Cancer” charity cycling event is set to take place from October 13, 2024, to February 8, 2025. This remarkable journey will traverse 77 provinces across Thailand and four neighboring countries—Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar—covering a total distance of 8,635 kilometers over 119 days.
Event Stages:
- Southern Thailand / Malaysia:
The ride will kick off at Wang Klai Kangwon on October 13, 2024. - Western / Eastern Thailand:
Participants will navigate Thailand’s varied terrains. - Northeastern Thailand / Cambodia / Laos:
The route extends into Cambodia and Laos, fostering regional connections. - Northern Thailand / Myanmar:
Cyclists will explore the northern regions of Thailand and Myanmar. - Central / Western Thailand:
The journey concludes through central and western Thailand.
Key Activities:
- Cycling Against Cancer:
Riders will join forces with various cycling clubs to raise cancer awareness. - Educational Workshops:
Sessions on “Living a Cancer-Free Life” will be held before, during, and after the ride. - Charity Fundraising:
The event aims to raise funds for the Phra Pithak Saharoka Thai Medicine Hospital and two schools in remote areas: Ban Kokkchang Development School in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Ban Non Udom School in Udon Thani.
Awareness Campaigns:
- Ban Kokkchang Development School:
Promotions will be conducted in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchaburi, and Samut Songkhram from November 9-13, 2024 (5 days). - Ban Non Udom School:
Campaigns will reach Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Bueng Kan, Nong Khai, and Udon Thani from December 10-18, 2024 (9 days). - Remaining Provinces:
Additional hospital awareness initiatives will be organized over 101 days.
